May well be, but the next person to come along may wish to use it for other intentions. I can also well imagine a lawyer using it in a civil case against a CC/OC shooter (or possible even peace officer) outside the school environment, and uneducated juries buying into it. Just don't think we need this kind of precedent coded into law.

You are, of course, completely correct.

Just some thoughts. Dale, I don't know if you'd be able to get an official government document describing the equipment air marshals are using without FOIA, but I could be wrong. In any case, I don't think we should be comparing airline tactical concerns with a school.

I see your point. Probably better to stay away from the Air Marshall example.

Instead a simple, strong statement like, "Hollow point ammunition is the type used by all local, state and federal law enforcement. If it's the best choice for them, then it should be for this situation also." A legislator hears this and maybe asks the troopers guarding the capital what they use or maybe calls the CLEET folks and hears the same thing. Case made.

Bingo. This is basically what I told Jason Murphey late last night when I had my freak-out. He also had thought they were meaning hollowpoint until I told him otherwise. He said he would check with McCullough, et al.

Mons, as I'm sure you are aware these "mass shooters" are resorting to wearing body armor. The Colorado theatre shooter comes to mind. I think it would be a mistake to legislate any ammunition type because as we can see from this, they don't know $h^* about guns and invariably will legislate an ammunition type that will make an armed good guy totally ineffective. Just my :twocents: but you might pass this idea along if you haven't already.
