I know nothing of old military guns and such.

Trade with fellow member @Speedrat for this below. Now am ate up with curiosity as to what rifle it is to go on?

@montesa figured out one similar, that I found when I was a kid and kept it all these years. It fit a K98 rifle.

So @montesa or anyone, what say you?

It fits an Argentine 1909 Mauser

Modelo Argentino 1909 Mauser Sword Bayonet

This bayonet was designed to fit the Modelo Argentino 1909 Mauser Infantry Rifle, manufactured in Germany under contract. Most of these bayonets - if not all - were manufactured by Weyersberg, Kirschbaum, and Cie.

Looks like there are 3 different patterns.

M1909 bayonets were made by the firm Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Co. of Solingen, Germany. W.K.C. produced approximately 170,000 bayonets from 1909–1912.

It looks like yours is a 2nd pattern 1st issue. So I would assume middle of that date range. 1910-1911??

That's actually a rather informative website for lots of bayonets.

And one.of the highest quality rifles ever made, a favorite for custom hunting gun builds, ultra slick and.perfection, as most pre-WWI Mausers including the Swedish. Great that you bought/traded into something to push you into buying one.

Appreciate it! Now I am going to “learn up” on them.
