Speaking of shot spreading and banging around.
Here comes another story.
I will try to make it short.
1:36 twist muzzleloader Not accurate.. stuck bullet ..in for a few years ..rusted pitted rifling. from not cleaning.
Drilling bullet out ..bit got sideways and it is not stuck.. bulged the barrel. but this was at about 16".

Cut barrel shorter got bullet and drill bit out.. drilled rifling smooth.. made mandrel from steel rod polished inside of barrel with sandpaper on mandrel.

NOW short barrel muzzleloader shotgun.
Loads were Pyrodex RS then toilet paper packed on top tight then 7 /12 shot from a 23/4" 12 gauge load then more toilet paper on top packed tight. 1 square.
Also had a 28" full choke 12 gauge at the time of the shooting testing.

That short barrel muzzleloader "shotgun" would spread out about 2.5-3 feet in a very short distance like 25-30 feet.
Just vaporize melons on a fence post.
At 50 yards the spread was the same about 3 feet wide. the full choke 12 gauge spread was twice as wide at least.

After many people shooting it many times we figured we just came up with the perfect shotgun.

Now say you have a pistol that does not shoot any load good and it stays in the safe or tackle box.
Pitted bore etc.
Why not slick the barrel innards and make it a dedicated "pellets gun"
