I'm an optimist. I see ammo and gun prices falling just like they did in Trumps first administration.
In the obummer years when people were paying over $100 for a 500-round box of Remington thunder duds, I was sitting on a big stash of .04 cents a round .22 ammo from the Trump years.
Swore I'd never pay more than .04 a round and held to that.
When .22RF fell to .03 a round, I'll never need to buy another .22 cartridge ever again.
The variable here is China and the export restrictions they announced back in August (?). They are the world’s largest exporter of antimony which is used to harden lead. I’ve noticed that lead shot for shotgun reloading has increased in price by 10% or more over the last couple of months. Fortunately, I have bags of shot I’m reloading that were purchased when it was 1/2 the price it is now.

The bags of shot I have were priced at $25 per bag. That was a LONG way back.
Casual reloading was not any cheaper than buying factory for many years.
Specialty rounds for pheasant and so was definitely cheaper to reload vs factory.
Heck, I have all the components, so why not reload them vs sitting on the shelf.
Our range is starting a trap program, so it might be a good opportunity to use those bags of shot.

Yeah, i was buying $80-$100 cases and $100 sks’s while the old timers reminisced about $50 cases and $50 sks’s coated in cosmoline…was good times back in the day when even a poor boy could buy a foreign big boy rifle and shoot it til it blew just to spite the reds.
Maybe the Russian import bans will end and cheep 7.62x39 will be mid to low $200 after Trump gets into office. I remember during the Clinton years cussing cause the ammo had shot into to $300 range. Dropped significantly after Bush got into office and the democrats assault weapon band ended.
