What do you mean by "legal". I thought you still needed the license and you could be concealed, partially open, or the full monty. Did I miss something.
I repeat this thought as well, but I'm not sure.

I definitely plan on getting some more details before doing anything. I am tall and most of my shirts don't come down long enough to keep the IWB concealed all the time, let alone one on the outside. I am looking to get an OWB for the xd and letting the longer shirts I have dangle over. If the bottom sticks out, so be it. I have thought about this issue several times though as to the legality, so hopefully someone more educated can enlighten us.

you still need the ccw permit...with open carry it is no longer illegal for someone to inadvertently see your weapon(that was a citable offense)...you can carry in full view if you choose==I'll use that option when I'm in my fishing tube--get the permit

Come Nov. 1st, your weapon can pattern under your clothing, or you can show only 1/4 inch of it...the full view... or anything in between.

The only thing you probably don't want to do if you get into a argument with someone, is to move your covering back in order to expose more of the weapon than was already in view to the other person involved. That very likely would be considered brandishing.. as you moved the covering in order to make sure the other person saw your weapon. That would be considered a means of intimidation.

Brandishing... Yes another brandishing expert amongst us, please cite statutes and case law to support your supposition when giving legal advice. Just like all the worry over printing concealed from view is concealed from view the outline of my p3at in my front pocket has never been a problem.

According to federal law ..... Federal law defines brandished as, “with reference to a dangerous weapon (including a firearm) means that all or part of the weapon was displayed, or the presence of the weapon was otherwise made known to another person, in order to intimidate that person, regardless of whether the weapon was directly visible to that person. Accordingly, although the dangerous weapon does not have to be directly visible, the weapon must be present.” (18 USCS Appx § 1B1.1)
