How to catch someone in the act?

A friend of the wife is having a problem with another person, not a spouse or an ex. Too many gory details but big problems. She is seeking a VPO but the deputy is having trouble locating him.

The guy has entered her house when she wasn't home (she left her door unlocked.). He is driving by the house at all hours. Several days ago, the tires in her driveway were slashed.

They don't have a lot of money but I was wondering if there is a video or camera system someone could recommend. Ive seen small recorders that could be hidden in the house that records when motion is detected and saves to an sd card.

She is prepared in other ways like pepper spray and firearms for personal protection. Looking for reasonable priced camera system that also has to be easy to use. Any webcam cameras that will do the same? Best outdoor system?

Get some infared game cameras. That's what we did when someone cut my grandfather's fence. Haven't caught anyone out there yet, but haven't had the fence cut again either.....

She needs to find that SOB and tell him in no uncertain terms that she will shoot him DRT, then slit his throat and piss on his still warm body before she calls the JBTs to take it away if he ever comes near her or anything that is hers ever again. (At least that's what worked for me ... VPOs are only as good as the paper they are written on IMHO.) If he's not scared of her and what she might actually do to him, nothing in the world will stop this from escalating -- again IMHO. Good luck to your friend.

BTW, I have an ex- who thought it was fun to slap me around. I dumped his ass and that's when the stalking started. I tried to play by the rules and did everything the cops told me to do, but nothing stopped it. THEN the SOB threatened to harm my kids (who were just babies at the time). That was all it took. One little visit from me in the middle of the night while he was sleeping off a drinking binge convinced him that I would, indeed, kill him in his sleep and tell God and everyone else he had died. I never saw the jerk again ...

First thing I thought of was the commercial with the couple who bought the rescue panther for home defense but they were afraid to sleep with it perched on top of their dresser haha.
