How far is her house from the road? How good a shot is she? What does he drive? If its a pickup truck putting some buckshot through the side of the bed may stop it and she'd have next to no chance of hitting him by accident if she's a half decent shot.

:saywhat:

:bolt:

I am not recommending in any way that she do something like this, but I've seen it work in movies.

This is not an easily scare able guy. He has a history of assaults and fighting with police. Then there are drugs involved that throw logic and reason out the window. The vpo is a paper trail that shows she is trying to do the right thing. Another line of defense if she ever has to take drastic action if he ever breaks into her house.

I've seen some fairly cheap motion sensor alarms on a site called x10. Anyone ever used them or know anywhere local items may be purchased. I remember seeing a spy shop in south Okc on I 240. Anyone ever been in there?

Uhhh, if possible:

How about a overnight move?
Arrange a job transfer at the same time.
...to the other side of town, or the next town, or wherever.
Leave no forwarding address, practice safe OPSEC, new cell phone, don't tell friends that might know the crazy dude.
*Disappear*

Seriously, if this guy is so unpredictable and showing signs of aggression, then why are you waiting for 'something' to happen?
That 'something' could be another 'harassment' ...or something much worse.

Confronting/fighting a crazy dude doesn't seem like a rational choice. And using the *SLOW* legal system won't phase him.
In fact it plays into his cards, as she probably feels *EVEN MORE HELPLESS*.
This adds to his sense of control, as the 'LAW' can't stop him. (even if false)

How about a update on the situation? This thread was started back in February. Is she still having problems?

When I first registered on OSA, I was severly chastised by a Mod for a recommendation I made about dealing with a neighbor's aggressive pit bull... so I better not offer some of the suggestions I had in mind to solve her problem... ;)

But definitely create the paper trail every chance she gets. If it isn't written down some where what this guy is doing.. then it never happened in the eyes of the courts... it would only be hearsay. That said, a VPO to a 'nut job' is about like what Hitler said about the Geneva Convention.... that it was a piece of paper he could tear up any time he wanted too.

Game cameras that use infrared flash would probably be the cheapest way to keep a eye on the vehicles in the driveway. Those cameras will take color pictures with a time & date stamp.. putting them onto a SD card. Walmart is selling 32 GB cards right now for only $40. 16GB cards for only $20. They will hold 1,000's of pictures. She can also get some infrared driveway alarms for $14 at Harbor Feight Tools. A small sensor outside and a loud signal alarm and flashing red LED lights inside the house. Runs off a 9 volt battery and 3 C batteries.

David you are far from being alone when it comes to being chastised by a mod so don't feel bad.

An update would be nice. She should certainly keep her firearms and other protections out of site (but within reach) if the guy has no problem entering at will.

Beast1989... We must still be having some server issues... as this thread was started back in February.. but it popped up again yesterday... I just noticed that the post above mine by Sanjuro82 to which I responded too was made on 2/09/12. Wonder why this thread suddenly popped up again on the current list?

I wouldn't recommend any of these ones that make an alarm. Unless its in a neighborhood where others will likely respond. The noise will only alert him to the camera's presence and let him know where to get it and dispose of it.

She needs to find that SOB and tell him in no uncertain terms that she will shoot him DRT, then slit his throat and piss on his still warm body before she calls the JBTs to take it away if he ever comes near her or anything that is hers ever again. (At least that's what worked for me ... VPOs are only as good as the paper they are written on IMHO.) If he's not scared of her and what she might actually do to him, nothing in the world will stop this from escalating -- again IMHO. Good luck to your friend.

BTW, I have an ex- who thought it was fun to slap me around. I dumped his ass and that's when the stalking started. I tried to play by the rules and did everything the cops told me to do, but nothing stopped it. THEN the SOB threatened to harm my kids (who were just babies at the time). That was all it took. One little visit from me in the middle of the night while he was sleeping off a drinking binge convinced him that I would, indeed, kill him in his sleep and tell God and everyone else he had died. I never saw the jerk again ...

I like this Girl....
