I agre BB, if they aren't scared of you then it dosent matter what you do as far as legal actions. I agree, yes, that person would need to have the **** scared out of them to convince them that you aren't kidding when you sat leave me alone!

She needs to find that SOB and tell him in no uncertain terms that she will shoot him DRT, then slit his throat and piss on his still warm body before she calls the JBTs to take it away if he ever comes near her or anything that is hers ever again. (At least that's what worked for me ... VPOs are only as good as the paper they are written on IMHO.) If he's not scared of her and what she might actually do to him, nothing in the world will stop this from escalating -- again IMHO. Good luck to your friend.

BTW, I have an ex- who thought it was fun to slap me around. I dumped his ass and that's when the stalking started. I tried to play by the rules and did everything the cops told me to do, but nothing stopped it. THEN the SOB threatened to harm my kids (who were just babies at the time). That was all it took. One little visit from me in the middle of the night while he was sleeping off a drinking binge convinced him that I would, indeed, kill him in his sleep and tell God and everyone else he had died. I never saw the jerk again ...

Lady, I like your style.

A little Gunny Sergent Highway (Clint Eastwood) and John Wayne mixed together in a Mama Bear!

Protective orders are worthless. Always carry and hope he goes away. Cops are not here to protect and serve, they are here to investigate and press charges. When seconds count, police are minutes (or hours as the Blanchard situation) away. You have to take your safety into your own hands.

How far is her house from the road? How good a shot is she? What does he drive? If its a pickup truck putting some buckshot through the side of the bed may stop it and she'd have next to no chance of hitting him by accident if she's a half decent shot.

Does she have any bigger guy friends who could send a message for her?

He could call the cops but he's going to have just as much explaining to do as she will. He will likely not come back either.

I am not recommending in any way that she do something like this, but I've seen it work in movies.
