I'm so tired of all the rants about gun control. Here's the only way to really rid America of guns. Anything less is just hot air and endless pandering.
Here's how to get rid of guns in the U.S.:
First, hold a constitutional convention. Get rid of the 1st, 2nd, and 14th amendments.
Ban all guns except for in government armories. Ban all gun shops. All businesses having anything to do with guns and accessories will be terminated. Have a 30 day grace period in which $100 is rewarded for every gun given up. After 30 days, possession of a gun will mean a mandatory jail sentence of at least 1 year. Any illegal gun suppliers will be given the death penalty to be carried out immediately.
Install walls along the complete Northern and Southern borders of the U.S. to prevent guns from being brought in. Install undersea surveillance along the entire coast of America to detect possible illegal shipments of guns. Any unauthorized aircraft trying to cross a border will be shot down by the use of drones with down-looking radar. Walls should be concrete, embedded in the ground at least 15 feet to prevent easy tunneling, topped with razor wire and 24 hour video surveillance. There will be continuous army patrols along these borders. Anyone seen attempting to enter the U.S., except at govt. approved entry points, will be shot on sight and left for the coyotes and buzzards.
Forbid all internet activity that mentions guns and ammo. Forbid all press activity and magazine activity that mentions guns and ammo. Ban all 3-D printers. Ban personal metal working machinery, non-government approved lead, charcoal, sulfur, and potassium nitrate materials, all to prevent the illegal manufacture of guns and ammo.
Hire a foreign army. Using troops, gunships and tanks, begin a search of all inhabited parts of America. If a gun is found, that home will be burned to the ground and all inhabitants arrested (see above). Kids will be put in foster care and parents will lose all rights to their children. If anyone resists with a banned weapon, the whole neighborhood will be destroyed within a mile radius of the criminal's home.
Hire a second foreign army to replace the losses of the first. Recycle the metal from burnt out tanks and destroyed gunships. Continue the search of America until all areas have been covered. Then search again to catch all those missed in the first search.
