Felt recoil is normally less with straight wall cases than with bottleneck cases. There are many other variables that make a difference in felt recoil, but this is a big one. Felt recoil has little to do with actual recoil energy. I have fired .270s that kick harder than my .375 H&H Mag., though actual recoil energy is 'way higher with the .375.

Beautiful rifle. And I have the best wife, but yours could be in second place.

GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!

I have been a fan of the BLR since acquiring my first way back '75. I now have 2 (.22LR and .44RemMag), but you have me wishing for a 3rd in .45-70. Especially since my grandson has absconded with my .44 during deer season and then granddaughter went hog hunting with it. She's been eyeing my BL-22, too.
It doesn't look I'm getting back anytime soon and the other is locked down.
