Is there any brand out there that a person wants to stay away from? I don't know how to tell a good brand from a bad one. I know RIA are cheap, but I know alot of people who really like them.

I've had several Colt & Kimbers of different variations over the years. I finally shelled out money for a Les Bauer Premier II about 6 years ago & have never regretted it. The fit & finish are top drawer & it is extremely accurate. It is my favorite pistol to shoot by far.

I know they're low cost, but I've only seen good reviews for the Rock Island pistols, and I personally shot one. It was fantastic. I wish they made one in stainless, because I'm sick of blue and black and plating for the time being.
