Any one interested in teaching me how to better shoot my Colt SAA pistols? Not only will I pay for such instruction, you'll get the immeasurable benefit of my phenomenal wit, wisdom, and knowledge which encompasses all subjects.

Also, we might be able to make a deal on reloading all the tons of .45 long Colt brass.

JB, I haven't a clue ... Cowboy action stuff ain't my thang ... GC says you can probably outshoot him with it now. And I was all excited -- looking forward to coming up and showing you how it's done ... Danggit ... Some things just aren't meant to be, I guess ... :wink2:

I'm a fair hand with a semi auto and even the DA revolvers, but I just am not doing well with the SAA pistols. If you saw a target with my shots from a Colt Government Model vs. Colt SAA, you wouldn't believe it was the same person shooting.

I feel ya. "They" say if you can shoot one gun you should be able to shoot them all but I'm here to tell you it doesn't work that way with me. I get used to a trigger and then change guns and it looks like I've never even shot before ... until I get use to the new trigger. And if it's got a really long pull ... well, I'm screwed ... I like my triggers really short and crisp ...

If you live in the OKC area, you might try going to a Cowboy Action Shooting (CAS) Match at the OKC Gun Club. Start up a chat or two with the cowboys - they fall all over you having you shoot their guns and such. Probably hook up with someone who is willing to show you a thing or two. Stillwater Rifle and Pistol Club also have CAS matches as does Lawton Short Grass Rangers and the Indian erritory Single Action Shooting Society - Tulsa. They are all on line. They post their match schedule and are open to the public. I shoot Ruger "old" Vaqueros and Piette replica remmingtons New model Army with conversion culinders in CAS. The grip and feel of modern DA and semis are way different than SAA or replica.

So - where 'bouts do ya live?

I shoot and handload .45 Colt (aka Long Colt) with full house BP loads and the more tame smokeless loads with cast boolits.

PM me if can be of further assistance.
