JB- Have you checked out Indian Territory SASS at http://www.itsass.net/ ? I betcha some of those folks would love to work with you. And most of 'em reload in high quantity too!

BTW- I'm watching the Shootist as I type this.

Watching some of the videos, that looks like that could get addicting................dressing the part looks awesome too.

Quite a while ago, we went to a SASS match at OKC Gun Club. I saw girls in bustiers. Back then the last thing I needed to put on was a bustier. :lookaroun

It might be better now that I've had surgery ... lol Besides, I've seen matches on tv where the girls dressed a lot like the guys ... in pants and vests. I could DO that and shoot. No shooting in a bustier and skirt though ... Too much to fuss with ...

I know the secret to good shooting with a SAA is where your finger is on the trigger. Too much finger makes it pull to the left, not enough makes it pull to the right. Or vice versa. Something like that. Trouble is, I don't know how to translate that knowledge into usefulness. I'm coming up to OKC in early Jan. Wife has a Dr. appointment on the 3rd. I might be able to meet you at H&H or Heartland one evening. I've got a bunch of BP .45's loaded up, and a conversion cylinder for a Colt's Walker revolver, and I have a Uberti SAA in .44-40. I doubt I can teach you much, but we can smoke up the place.

Not sure anyone would want to take lessons from the World's Worst Cowboy Action Shooter though. Be kinda like payin' a Congressman to do the right thing.

Lots of old timers I've shot Colts with swear by your grip on the pistol. Loose, like a handshake, not like shooting a 357(unless that's what your shooting). Also a few swear to lower your onehanded grip...pinky underneath the grip.

The typr of material affects your grip on the gun also....hard rubber(original) is what I learned on, but I swear Ivory and Elk grips are thicker than Mother of Pearl.....affecting how you handle the gun......just me and my 2cents.

Practice and lots of it with Colt SAA. Remember what rounds(make of round) shoot where on the target.

I don't shoot Cowboy Action nor Fast Draw competition. Just a few beers, or shots of whiskey, with a good cigar shooting tin cans off a wooden fence post or a few metal targets down in the creek or pasture.

***If your not having the luck you wanted from your guns...THEN....I'd call and ask what these guys recommend for improving accuracy. Waaaaay before you go filing on your front sight, call a few of these places I've posted. Tell them what you want from your gun and see what they offer....a phone call is free information.

Here are a few I've used for grips and some tuning....NOT quick draw or fast cowboy action.....just for me and what I wanted. I would have suggested Bob Munden, but he is deceased...RIP. Don't know who is going to take over, you could call his wife (Becky) and ask.???

Over time you'll find out these aren't the type of guns that you shoot, put away for a few months and go guns a blazin' expecting to be a ringer. At least thats the way I am with Colt SAA, I can put away my SIG and go back and hit point of aim, but not without practice on my Colt SAA.

My Colts all have ivory grips, except 2 and one of those is the black plastic and snother is wooden. I typically shoot Winchester cowboy loads and the magtech rounds. What's funny is I can hit better with my Navy Arms Schofields.

Thanks for all the links!!!
