Look at your dust bowl history... People leaving here to Cali after things dried up here is how it started.... was derogitory at the time, worse than calling a Cajun a coonazz...

I came up with that, but didn't find anything indicating it was derogatory, hence why I asked.

I know why MY Cajun friends are offended by that.

It is also used in as a racist term referring to interracial relationships and babies. You can post what you like from wiki, but having spent a lot of time down there and seeing it used as a racial slur, I'll refrain from using it.

Geeze. Lighten up. If you were born and raised in Oklahoma, you're an Okie.

Now, if you're an OSU fan, you have to be offended by being referred to as "Okie Light". :D
