Naturally, I can't speak as a former president or even a low-level politician, so I won't surmise what anyone might do. The flip side to that is I've never aspired to be a politician at any level. But, in trying to understand their logic, I can see where, as in biden's case, a life-long ability to commit crimes, lie, skirt laws, etc. (this goes for both dems and repubs), pardoning may seem insignificant?
And to everyone everywhere, this forum included, I'm not condemning or belittling, etc, the notion of who may or may not do the same thing. I'm not upset about their beliefs or statements or even somewhat being included as a liar, as I think that's painting everyone with a pretty broad brush. I do think it's a baseless and unfounded assumption that hopefully wasn't made in all seriousness.
But while trying to think in biden logic and under the same circumstances of being a life-long corrupt and as of Jan. 20 (Thank God) former politician, there's a good chance that I'd pardon my career criminal son.

LOL, no. We’ve all earned the right to throw stones at a a morally and ethically bankrupt old crime boss. IDGAF that he pardoned his son and will probably pardon every other member of his crime family. I know there’s about a zillion to one chance any of them will ever see the inside of a jail cell, even without the pardons.

I want the 6am armed raids at all their homes and businesses. I want the financial documents and computers seized. I want the threat of open, public hearings with leaked evidence hanging over their heads like a Sword of Damocles for the rest of their lives. I want them to KNOW that they can be publicly destroyed if they don’t STFU and stay exiled in their gilded cages.

I also want the Democrats put on notice that their secrets are ready to be revealed if they don’t stop with the “war politics” and accept the will of The People. I want some balance restored and the left to keep their fringe groups out of power.

Sp long as there’s more than one human left in this planet, we’ll never be rid of corruption. What we deserve is to put them back in their place and make them fear us.

That wouldn’t work because states like Delaware, New York and California would not only not prosecute them, they’d expose the “parallel construction” and use it against the Trump Administration.

Best to just get the goods and hold it over their heads. “War politics” has to end now.

I understand and agree. IMO, this pardon is not your common presidential pardon. As you stated, it is far reaching. Mainly, by not naming any specific acts, but any acts committed in an approximate 10-year period. Joe likely doesn't know every specific criminal act his son committed, so he threw a blanket pardon to cover them all, plus the ones he's implemented in.
My post was mainly in response to some statements that I interpreted as the pardoning was somewhat typical and everyone/most everyone would do the same thing. And after some forethought, if I were biden, I'd pardon him?

I never said anyone is above the law. I never said Joe and family weren't corrupt pieces of crap.

All I'm saying is if it was most of us, and we had a wayward son, had already lost a son - we would use a "get out of jail" card and not look back.

Probably most conservatives will say "I'd let him go to jail, he has to pay for his decisions". I suspect that most of them really believe they would, too.

You are 100% correct about the opportunity for Hunter to testify - that could potentially be a bigger deal than him going to prison. Also a good way to get Epsteined.

He's never stopped doing the things that lead to trouble, everyone (think DOJ) has just been looking the other way unless circumstances force them to address it. In that case they make it look like they're taking it seriously, but the reality is they're just waiting for the first opportunity to sweep everything under the rug.
