I put this together a few years ago, but someone might appreciate bringing it up again. I use my safe daily, and have no complaints about my selection.

I recognize the 'in-wall' safe is not a replacement for a big floor model, but it works to keep my daily carry rig and other random valuables secure. I can get into it very quick - less than 15 seconds from a deep sleep.

with all the panic going on, i have been thinking about buying a safe. i like the wall safe idea. others would not know its there.

i do have a question and i dont really want to start another thread so i thought i would ask here.

lets say that for whatever reason (gun ban) the police came to my house to look for weapons. lets say that they may already have a warrant. Can they open my safe and look inside. What if with all the excitement and stress i "forget" the combination.

i was just wondering and im not trying to steal your thread.

My stance is that would depend on what the search warrant was issued for! If it was issued for a stolen car, then no. Rifle? No! A search warrant will always include (should at least) what the basis for it is and that is what they are allowed to search for. The size of the locked box must reasonably match the size of the item they seek. DOH! Not that this stops the classic fishing expedition!
