Interesting Cold Weather Effect

One of our vehicles is a 2013 Ford Edge. Bought it new, never had any real issues with it. However, this recent series of cold mornings has presented an issue I have never experienced, in any vehicle. It is kept in garage, and mornings where the temp has been 40 or below, no audio. Everything else works properly, no issue with starting, everything as normal, even the "info center" shows Audio on, including status of input, etc., just no sound. It stays that way no matter how far you drive, but when starting the next time, everything is back to normal. It's like the speakers are frozen.

Any thoughts?

Cold weather wire shrinkage. You'd think auto manufacturers would allow an extra inch to every connection.

I'm going to predict you are the proud new owner of an intermittent electrical problem. One that is outside temperature related should be extra fun to debug.

It’s a Ford thing. I can tell the temperature by how long it takes the radio in my work truck to come on. Several others in the fleet are the same way.
