ABC is now running a story (picked up on Yahoo) entitled:
Killing of 3 teens during burglary may test Oklahoma 'stand your ground' law

Saw that on another site and went to read it. ABC is stretching the statement from the prosecutor's office in a way it was never meant, IMO. The law is not being "tested", they are using it to check off the blocks and validate the law as being correctly applied for this case. IOW, they're doing their job. Along the way, the prosecutor is doing the same thing with the "felony murder" rule to ensure the driver is being properly charged.

National media are disgusting with the constant drumbeat of covering up blatant criminal activity with stories of the just-enrolled in hairdresser's college and aspiring rap artist dindus that were the apple of their granny's eye. This crew didn't have the melatonin quotient required for that angle so now we get treated to questioning the law that exists in 44 states that allowed a person to defend himself in his home.

Absolutely. I felt ABC was really stretching to try to fit a narrative implying that there was something wrong with the statute in question on its face. Such a perfect example of national news media attempting to use eye-catching headlines to influence public opinion and perhaps even policy.

Reprehensible.

Keep it up ABC. You are digging your hole deeper. At some point it will become increasingly obvious to many members of the general public that defending one's home against armed invaders, dressed in black with black facemasks who have kicked in your door, is a reasonable thing and that ABC is out of touch with reality. It is not "stand your ground" - it goes way back to "a man's home is his castle".

If you haven't listened to this 911 transcript yet, it's very telling. The young man somehow managed to maintain his composure; despite what just occurred.

I came here to post just about the 911 call being released. I don't think he could have handled the after action report/call any better. Handled it from start to finish like a pro. Does any one know if he's prior military?
