My "fog" lights are not-so bright, factory, clear lensed lights that sit lower than my headlights. They are on unless I'm driving in the city. I really don't care, they do not affect other people and they give me more light right in front of me. Like Whitey says, they are not going to blind you.

About the only ones that get my panties in a twist are the douchecanoes that will not turn their damn headlights on at twilight. Go watch the sunset on any highway. Steady stream of headlights, interspersed with these douchcanoes hiding in their midst. Makes them super hard to see. Hell, some people wait until it is pitch dark.

That, and the 3% of people that will drive in a pitch black rain storm during the day with no lights on. Tool bags.

I blame these goobers for making more cars come with daytime running lights. They aren't smart enough to use them, so they had to force it on them. I like being able to turn my headlights off, I'm going to be pissed when all cars are sold with DRL's in the states.

I honestly think some people think they are being cool be not "having" to turn them on.

Dont know the statute, but I got a $250 ticket from OHP in 2001 for having HID in assemblies without HID cutoff.

I would have fought that one. Gone to court and made them show me what law I was breaking.

Thats also when aftermarket HIDs were just first hitting the market big time. Not trash talking LEOs but he may not have known what he was talking about.

Found it. FMVSS 108. Cant fight federal motor vehicle safety standards. :(

Its also tied to some SAE thing.

I get pretty ticked when people fail to dim their brights for oncoming traffic. My stock brights are pretty freaking bright so they usually get the hint when I flash them. I do kind of get a kick out of it when someone is behind me with their brights on. I have an electric rear sunshade which really serves no purpose other than to make those people feel like douches when I deploy it.:loser:

what section in 108?

Dont know.thats just what's in my notes from when I was going to try to fight it. I also wrote down that the officer designated them as "for off road use only." Although the kit package said DOT approved.

So I dont know. See a lot of people doing it now, but I also see alot of less than 5% tint on side driver and passnger windows.
