The wife and I are planning on taking the motorcycle from south of Tulsa to Talimena Drive then on to Mena Arkansas for the weekend of November 13 and 14. I have been told that it may be too late to see the foliage that is changing or has changed. What do you guys think? Will that be too late or will we still have a chance to see some good sites? Ive also seen that there are other stops to make too...What do you guys/gals think?

Just got back from Eureka Springs last night; leaves are turning, but not at peak yet. That late in November is iffy - especially with the unusually dry fall we've had. Even if it's on the back-side of peak foliage season, it still would be a great ride, though.

We rode it the day after Christmas 2 years ago.Everything was either brown or green(evergreen), but we had a blast and the best part was I think we saw maybe ten cars from Mena to Talihena. Several bikes, but they were spread out and usually going east. Enjoy, and watch for deer.

Arkansas Fall Foliage Report: http://www.arkansas.com/calendar/fall_foliage_pg1.aspx (There are several good web sites for foliage reports)

Peak for Central Arkansas/Quachita Mountains expected to be late Oct to early Nov.

I've flown over Talimena Drive/Quachita several times in the past to enjoy the fall colors followed by lunch in Mena, AR. Awesome scenery any time of the year.

I was down there last weekend for a motorcycle thing. I honestly don't look at the trees but watch the stripes in the road curve in some really sexy ways. Go for it!

I'll be in that area Thursday - will follow hwy 1 out of Mcalester to Talihina then over the mountain to Honobia. Should be pretty - I might make a run over to Talimena Drive to check out Billy Creek.

hav'nt been across the mountain lately, but there is some color already. But buffalo mountain is already turning brown. Potato hills on the south side of hwy2/63 is getting some color.

I'd say november will be pretty dull and brown.

If any of yawl are in Talihin,a stop in and say howdy at crooked row gardens next door to lawsons pharmacy. Used to be B&B trading.
