Is it too late for the Talimena drive?

Drove it this past weekend....like others have said, some patches have turned full color, but probably a couple more weeks til peak. Still amazingly beautiful and a great time.

I'd say that if your going for the fall colors then the middle of November would probably be a week or two late. If your going just for the ride then go for it. Just remember to watch out for leaves on the road going around some of those corners.

Here, but occasionally There.
I would have to agree with the others in that it is a beautiful drive/ride regardless of time of year. Two years ago, we went on the first weekend of November from Northern Arkansas, down Highway 71 then to Mena and back to OKC. A lot of good color that year, but it had also been a wetter year.

Have fun.

Here is a link to one photo that I took at Natural Falls State Park east of Tulsa.

The wife and I went last Tuesday and it hadn't really started, both sides were really dry so maybe they will get some rain and the leaves hang on a little longer. We did see a lot of bikes east bound and at Wilhimena State Park.
Enjoy the drive and scenery.
