I had a new door installed a year or so ago and the house has settled or something and now it doesn't sit quite right. I've been told that it's because the installer didn't use long enough screws, or perhaps not enough of the long screws. I'd like somebody that knows what they're doing to straighten it up for me so everything lines up the way it should again. And I am also interested in adding some door jam armor and I'd likely be willing to pay the same guy a little more to do that at the same time.

I didn't know if there was a board member that does that kind of work or not so I figured I'd ask. I'd also welcome recommendations if somebody knows a guy.

Dang, I could help you out here in The Tulsa area, don't know anyone there though?
Does the locking bolt and latch not line up with the holes in the jamb? Try opening the door and then picking up on the lock side and see if the hinges move any at all. If they do just remove 1 screw at a time and replace with longer ones (4" ones are best). If the door is solid and doesn't move then you will probably have to ream out the holes in the jamb with a grinder bit or dremel tool. If you have any questions you can call\Text me at 918-695-3808

Thanks Hipshot, the dead bolt still locks it just has more friction than it ought to. If I lift up on it it's just fine so it's obvious the top side needs drawn in some, I can also tell that visually because the door used to sit square in the jam but now there's a gap in the top right corner. I'll get some long screws and try the one at a time approach you described if I can't find someone. But I'm going to do some asking around because I'd really like to get that door jam armor installed too.

Have you installed those kits? I hear nothing but high praise about them.
