I moved to Las Vegas for some time now, and finally visited one of their indoor shooting range with a friend who invited me. Where I moved from, my family reloaded our own ammo and shot pretty much outside at open ranges.

My question is this. At this particular range, they require you to use only ammo and targets sold by them. I can somewhat understand the ammo part since they don't want people using personal hot loads.......but this is what I find strange. They DO NOT allow you to practice head shots on the full silhouette!!!!! WTF? Is this normal?

Needless to say, I ain't going back there again.

Nope,

Shot a total of 9 rounds.....2 to the chest, 1 to the head.......2 to the chest, 1 to the head....... 3 to the head. Guy came in and in a stern voice said "WE DON'T ALLOW HEAD SHOTS". I then said......."oh, really"......packed up and went out to car.

Oh, and they don't allow rapid fire either. You have to wait 2 seconds between shots!!!!!!!!

Surely, Lost Wages has other ranges you can check out.

Have since found an approved outdoor "range" that's just a few miles south of the strip that I can go and shoot free of charge. Actually it's an open space with some small mountains as back stop.
