Along these lines I read an excellent opinion piece today at Belmont Club, written by Richard Fernandez.

Just as soon as Israel accepted an Egyptian-brokered ceasefire Hamas fired 47 rockets killing one Israeli citizen. Anyone who has followed the conflict could have predicted this with certainty; the point of a ceasefire - for a terrorist organization - is to break it for exactly the same reason it purposely attacks women and children.
Dr. Anna Geifman tried to explain that the reason why innocents are selected as terror targets is because “children are the last consecrated absolute”. That is just why they must be killed in the cruelest way possible. For “militant nihilism strives to ruin first and foremost what their contemporaries hold sacred”.


The power of Hamas lies in that they will never stop hating. No ceasefire, concession, negotiation or entreaty will move them. That is their inhuman strength. The Jews can even exterminate them, but only at the cost of destroying all the ideals they hold dear. If the last Hamas activist could speak he would say this:
“Shoot! I am the last. Carry out your ethnic cleansing, just as the Nazis tried with you. You will never be able to look yourself in the mirror again. The price of victory is to win on our terms. Nothing will remain of your precious Jewish self-esteem, of the illusion that you are a civilization dedicated to morality. What will you do after you kill me? Go to your synagogue and a hymn of praise to your God?

They wont regret it or learn from it. Neither will Israel. They world, however, grows tired of Israels heavy handness. Its just a matter of time.

Heavy handness by Israel? Hamas fired over 1000 rockets into Israel in one day. The Iron Curtain took most of them down. When Israel asked for a cease fire so the Palestinian's could bring in food/medical supplies/ etc for the general population, Hamas fired more rockets.

Who is heavy handed?

Hamas areas that are targeted by Israeli air strikes are warned twice before the bomb hits. Hamas moves innocents into those areas to be killed for "photo ops" that our media is more than willing to publish. Our media spends more time covering the terrorist hamas than they do over the Israelis that have to live in bomb shelters built for them by their government.

Guess what? The only bomb shelters in the Gaza are for hamas leaders. There are no bomb shelters for civilians.

Why is that? hamas propaganda? The media sure picked up on the American Palestinian kid that got beat up by Israeli security forces. His mom and some others said it was not warranted.

He was part of a violent protest about a cousin of his that was killed as a terrorist, but the media sure didn't mention that.

And your right. Israel gives them a warning if 1 minute to get out of a 5 story apt building. I bet it takes you a minute to get out of your house.

So they get a minute to vacate while Hamas rushes in a bunch of kids for a human sheild. Christ Hamas must have good spies to be shipping human shields into apartment buildings within a minutes notice.

Maybe you need to read some more propaganda. Whats the death toll. 2 or 3 Israelis vs 173 Palestinians?? A huge modern Army against a few armed terrorist types and a bunch of kids chunking rocks.

Heres some facts for ya.

Israel has about 8.4 million ppl that earn about $32000 per year.
Gaza has about 1.8 million ppl that earn about $6100 per year.

The land mass of Israel is about like a big State with the population scattered but concentrated in a few cities.

Gaza is about like Osage county or smaller with 1.8 million ppl concentrated in a couple of cities. Not really hard to shoot fish in a bowl.
