All of these people running out and buying up all the ARs and lowers they can find to sell privately and cash in on this run...............

Could that be legally construed as a straw purchase? I mean under the most strict definition, they are purchasing guns/lowers with the sole intent to redistribute them, thereby falsifying a federal firearms transaction record. Just wondering.

I ran into this today and it really pissed me off.

I purchased a lower reciever from a great team of OSA guys this morning that I plan to do business with in the future. I was 4th or 5th in line and was lucky enough to get one for a new build I'm hoping to complete. Later on in the day I saw one of the lowers listed on Armslist for over twice what the guy paid for it. I know it was him because he signed his name on the Armslist add and had a uniqe spelling that matched the one that was called in on the 4473. The lower was also one that you don't see a ton of to begin with.

The really poor part about it was the fact that there were others that did not get to purchase a lower because they ran out and all this guy wanted to do was turn and make a profit. Needless to say, I doubt he has an FFL.

Not a straw purchase. You are not buying it to turn around to sell/give to someone who otherwise could not purchase them. You are simply legally buying a firearm as an investment with the intent of legally (I assume) selling it for profit to someone at a later date.
