The guy standing still being pepper sprayed; looks like the cop is being an *******.
But what if the crowd was ordered to disperse and this guy was standing there in defiance? Seems like that should get him sprayed.
Pictures don't always show the truth of a situation.
With his hands in his pockets. Likely a bad idea when tensions are high. While the cop may be over reacting, I also see an act of defiance in that picture. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

There should have been the resounding click-click of a firearm in that woman's hand, going to battery in that clip. This IS what the 2A is also for.

She should have had a gun with round already chambered and the sound should have been a loud bang.

Oh noes.... some people got some pepper spray? That woman just got savagely attacked, and many others apparently have as well.
And I never said that her getting attacked was acceptable. In fact it's absolutely pathetic and all who were involved should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Before this strawman of yours that "you can't have it both ways" goes too far....... I said more people are rioting and looting than the police are murdering people. Change my mind. Any conclusion outside of that is yours, and yours alone.
Again, I never said anything against this. What I did show was that Reddit is more than just a vast hole of liberal ranting and snowflake whining (although, to be honest, there is a WHOOOOOOOLE lot of that too. I mostly just go for the memes).

You've got a few pics of some people getting pepper sprayed. I don't honestly care.

Well, you should. Everyone should. Anytime the police or any member of government exceeds their authority they should be held accountable and burned to the ground (figuratively only). You, and everyone else, should be horrified that peaceful protesters are being assaulted by those in charge. You should want those authoritative figure held, at the very least, to the same rules of law that those not in a position of power are held.

There are people are torching businesses to the ground, they just got in a gunfight with St Louis police last night, 4 officer shot. Even here in Tulsa, the protesters couldn't resist damaging businesses and assaulting people last night and the night before. Hell I could fill up the thread with all sorts of pics from social media.

And those people should, again, be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Let me draw you a comparison. When gun owners protested at the capitol of Michigan just last month, with their "assault weapons"... how many businesses were burned to the ground? People assaulted? How many looted?

Now surely there are individuals that employing peaceful protests, I get that, but they seem to be the minority, and again, not one instance of this happens when 2A supporters protest.

And how many times during those protests did the police fire rubber bullets and tear gas at the people that were peacefully protesting? How, exactly, do you think the current protests would turn out if the protesters showed up fully loaded up like Tactical Timmy here?

On principle we are really in agreement. Or at least I believe so. The principle that people should be allowed to peacefully protest? Check. The principle that rioters and looters are scum? Check. I think the only thing that we are disagreeing on (and I could really be wrong here) is the belief that video showing police overstepping their authority exists and is proof of said overstepping.

Oh noes.... some people got some pepper spray? That woman just got savagely attacked, and many others apparently have as well. You also have some vids of small business owners having to use their firearms to protect their business. Before this strawman of yours that "you can't have it both ways" goes too far....... I said more people are rioting and looting than the police are murdering people. Change my mind. Any conclusion outside of that is yours, and yours alone.

That's not exactly a strong point to make when the basis for the unrest is trained officers murdering citizens. Let me draw you a comparison. Protests by white gun owners over Duncan Lemp being murdered in his home by cops have resulted in nothing. Protests by people from all walks of life over Breonna Taylor being murdered in her home by cops have resulted in the firing of that police chief and banning the use of no-knock warrants.

In the locales where community policing is embraced, they're doing a much better job of circumventing damage and violence. In the locales where the answer is batons, pepper spray and rubber bullets, they're doing a terrible job. Funny, you treat people like human beings with value and get better results? Whod'a thunk it.

On those rubber bullets btw, here's a pic of a peaceful protester who was live streaming when they shot her in the face. If that was your daughter, sister or wife, how would you feel about it? Would you honestly not care? We've had intentional targeting of the press by police, to include shooting them with pepper ball guns and one female journalist permanently lost an eye. That's not nothing.

All I'm saying is that the complaints are legitimate and pervasive. Yes rioting and looting are wrong. I hope they catch most if not all of the agitators and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law. But they should do the same to officers taking advantage of the situation to hurt people for no reason. Wrong is wrong regardless of what they're wearing and which side they're on. That's worth agreeing on.

Seems like it’s been too long since The Duke passed on. The principles of ‘I won’t lie, steal or lay hands on another man or tolerate it from others .‘ needs to come back in style.

We could raise enough money to pay off the national debt if they’d take all the thugs, punks, dirty cops, three letter **** waffles and career bureaucrats throw them in unused arenas and have a no holds barred grab ass. Put it on pay per view and ka ching! Oh yeah, chuck all the union leaders who get fat by making it impossible to pull the weeds everyone knows about in with them.

Are people being gassed and peppered (in general) because they are rioting or looting? or really just standing there minding their own business? Here in Tulsa.... the Greenwood Protest was peaceful... no gas or pepper that I saw. They branched off from there though, and blocked I244 harassed some poor dude pulling a trailer and eventually tried to tear up Brookside. Last night, 71st and memorial/Woodland hills mall area. They got gassed... and peppered..... they deserved it as they had already broken out windows and were trying to loot some businesses. DO NOT CARE if they got gassed.....they were destroying property.

Reddit is just like FB, Twiiter, etc.... nobody is going to say.... hey... I was looting, rioting, and I got shot in the face. I saw it though, just like you on reddit, bunch of Idindoonuffin attitudes plastered all over social media. Are there some innocent people injured? Sure. But how many truly peaceful protests have remained that way? Why are the protests targeting their local businesses, hwys etc? How many times have we seen this SAME exact story throughout history?

On principle we are really in agreement. Or at least I believe so. The principle that people should be allowed to peacefully protest? Check. The principle that rioters and looters are scum? Check. I think the only thing that we are disagreeing on (and I could really be wrong here) is the belief that video showing police overstepping their authority exists and is proof of said overstepping.

I don't think they NEVER overstep their bounds, I think the instances are uncommon though. Whereas the rioting and property damage is not.

And how many times during those protests did the police fire rubber bullets and tear gas at the people that were peacefully protesting? How, exactly, do you think the current protests would turn out if the protesters showed up fully loaded up like Tactical Timmy here?

I think they would end without drama, aside from some triggered folks. That's my whole thing, why is it people Boogaloo'ed up never seem to have significant issues.... businesses aren't burned.... people aren't beaten, etc.
