Who the heck is "Fitt Insider?" They are the source of the story, but I don't know anything about how reliable and accurate they would be.
I have seen it on mainstream media too. FOX, CNN, etc.

I will admit to having eaten a few bugs in my time. Then I learned to keep my mouth shut when riding a bike, motorcycle or in a convertible. Sometimes even in a boat. Also as Pat Mcmanus has said several times "A bug bite is what you try to avoid taking while camping."

People eat insects all over the world. 75% of all animals on the earth are related to insects.
Lobsters and spiders are relatives as an example.

It’s just what we grew up eating and societal norms that drives our tastes.
I’ve had ants, crickets and some deep fried arthropods whose name I can’t pronounce in foreign food markets. Once you get past what you’re eating some can be quite tasty.
