What’s the goal for the final product?

Just to make a fun and reliable shooter out of it, and practice some gunsmithing with a few new parts and a few takeoffs. The B-prefix series of Colt 1911s are razor sharp on the outside and machining marks on the inside are rough and ugly. Slide fit is sloppy and there’s zero barrel fit to it. So, it seemed like a good project to work on.

I've only got one little pony in my stable. A Colt Cobra snub in .38 Special. This was the same model of revolver that Jack Ruby shot Lee Harvey Oswald with back in 1963. Only mine is a post 1972 edition.
