Gasblock is same color as the barrel, standard noveske color.

Correct on the scope, Millet TRS-1. I have found its a little too much scope for what I need. Currently thinking about a fixed scope.

The brown truck dropped off the last part I need to complete my first AR build. I admit this one is toy and a learning experience. I did a little research and did not build this pistol on the Spikes lower I posted earlier in this thread. I built it on a S&W unmarked lower. The lower came in box with a serialized label stating "stripped lower", there is also a piece of paper in the box from Smith with the serial number and "stripped lower" as well as my receipt stating the same. It's listed as "Other" on the 4473. Yeah, I am probably being paranoid but this is a gray area and I feel I have sufficient documentation that the lower I used left the factory as a virgin lower and has never had a butt stock attached. Whadda ya think?

I haven't decided what to do with the Spike's lower, maybe a mid length 16" gun or??? I plan to make it an ongoing project and turn it into something nice, dependable and practical. It will be all black though.

The lower is S&W, LPK is RRA, Buffer tube assembly is Spike's, Upper is a 7" Kitty Kat and the carry handle is temporarly borrowed from my Colt. Cute, huh?

100 rounds through my new 16" carbine today.

The $169 DD bbl is a sweet shooter! I sighted at 50 yds. and shot a few groups at 100 yds. I planned on trying some 200 yd. groups but some people showed up and I no longer had the place to myself. I did bang some steel at 200 yards. The trigger's gotta go, though...what do you all prefer?

Anyways...I'm pleased with how this one came together. I plan on shooting a class with it in the next six months or so.

You should think about a 1-4. I think low power variable scopes on this kind of gun are very handy.

Thanks guy. Yeah, either a fixed power or a lower variable are both options better than what I got now. I like the TRS, but its just a little much for what I do with the rifle. Was thinking if I stick with Millet, I would like to try a DMS.

And you need to think about not just classes, but coming up to tulsa on the first saturdays of the month and doing practical rifle. It has been the most fun I have had shooting my AR. Good group of guys that dont make you feel like a complete clod for doing less than par. If you are ever interested, there is a group of us that go. I wouldnt mind hauling a few guys up there, although with the wife being due early next month and some medical issues I am having, I may be out till March.

Every other week or so for the past month and a half

I even asked if there was an issue would they let me know and they said they would change the status from pending if there were any issues - which they haven't...

So now I wait...
