The Brits always had a far better understanding of what a soldier really needed for survival, even if sheaths were horrid. The Martindale galok machete is about as thick as our old Mk2 at 3/16th" and was (is?) in nearly every heavy vehicle for whatever need, the knives are 1/4" thick and nearly indestructible, dig, pry, hack, split, whatever.

Another member of the free knife club, which they should officially adopt to help lagging recruiting (as well as officially dropping all the PC crap running off the good ones who would serve). I still have a JPK and the demo knife, too...cannot recall name, but had a couple of those cast handle survival knives, too, and suprisingly good blades. Thanks for showing those...
The Japanese Explorer and Explorer 2 from Frost iirc were tough blades.
