This is my Rolex Submariner LV....I don't know how you could possibly love that Seiko more....

While the Submariner is a thing of beauty(I have the non-LV version), it's well outside the OP's budget and does nothing to further this topic.

Do you have on-demand pics of your True Religion jeans to match your cars, NFA weapons, and watches? Seriously??

To answer your question Jason, I like that a super-efficient company made a affordable, reliable precision automatic available to the Masses. Seiko automatics are like the Glocks of the watch world. If you are simply worried about owning ostentatious, flashy items to post on the internet and feel superior to others, then the Seiko would not be for you.

This was a thread about options on low- to mid-priced watches. Not a thread to champion the perceived superiority of your Rolex.

While I don't know the source of your displeasure with OKCShooter, the Rolex watch is a superior product to many people and a benchmark that many strive for. I happen to like many of Rolex's products, but do believe that they are/have reached a point where many people are not willing to pay the price point for even a used one. I also know many people are turned off by the Rolex 'image'. Rolex's advertising is a big part of where they are today along with their sponsorship of sporting events. They also put the idea of the 'tool watch' on the map. There's a reason so many military men have chosen a Rolex Submariner or GMT as their go to watch in the past. Although that era has past, it's still a vital part of the DNA that makes up the Rolex legend. Rolex will continue to be a standard by which many will measure themselves against for many years to come. Now... having said that, I believe that a Seiko dive watch is the best affordable to just about anyone mechanical watches out there. I've owned Seiko, along with many others before, and in my experience they also make a Superior product. Seiko has their Grand Seiko line and they are every bit on par with Patek Phillipe, Hublot, Vecheron Constantin and many others in that stratosphere, to include Rolex.

I would have to say my grail watch would be an Omega Speedmaster "Moonwatch". Not too flashy and actually attainable. ;)

I used to own one and it was easily the most comfortable wearing watch I've ever owned. Tough too. Get one, you won't regret it.

Now to the OP. Here's a link to a site that has just about anything you could want watch wise. It's basically a consolidated list of links to other watch sites sales fora. See one you like? click on it and it'll take you the the original posting. Good Luck finding what you want. I highly recommend Seiko if you're after a mechanical diver.

I'm a fan of Citizen EcoDrives, I've got a few, including a Stainless Nighthawk and a new EcoZilla. I also have a Limited Edition Lum Tec M5 Phantom (for sale by the way), and a Victorinox Infantry, lots of Casios as well. I am also a big fan of the Maratac Zulu and Nato straps.

I've got one Citizen Eco Drive Nighthawk like the poster above me only mine is all black. I saw the stainless but gave preference to the black one. I wear it daily and love the fact that because it runs on light I never have to worry about a battery or keeping it moving. Citizen got it right.

You can leave it stationary in a drawer for 8 months and it will still be running.

The citizen Eco drives do look nice also. Love the pictures by everyone also. Keep me coming. I think I even have my wife on board too for my Christmas present.

I honestly love the SXK009 more than the Submariner that inspired it. (I can respectfully say the Rolex inspired it, and pretty much all Submariner homages, right?)

Cry much?

I actually posted that I liked the Suunto to fit the OP's original question - someone before me, and then YOU posted about the Rolex brand (in particular the Submariner)...I happen to own one (the pic is a google image of my watch not an "on demand" pic) so I simply made a reply to YOUR post. Now you've got some personal beef with me although we have never met or corresponded.

Don't be so butthurt about whatever situation you're in...that way you won't whine about the situation I'm in.

Don't sweat it, homie. I don't have an issue with your specifically, or anyone else in particular.

I do find certain behaviors fascinating, like people conspicuously posting up all the top-tier **** they own on internet forums. It's not just you and it's not just this forum. It's like grade school kids on the playground, showing off their new Jordans or their latest Lamborghini Trapper Keeper. 'Cept adults don't seem to get the affirmation they need in real life, so seek out acceptance by other means.

And I will assure you it's not butthurt, or envy. It's just a cognizance I've taken over the years.

I've got a Luminox that's almost 10 years old and it still works great. I almost never took it off so it has been to hell and back but still functions perfect. It is now my camping, working outside etc. watch only because I bought a TruGlo Denali "Also Tritium" so I would have something dressy for work. Even though the TruGlo looks nicer they both use Ronda Swiss internals. I like the TruGlo but will buy another Luminox next time for what it is worth. Either can be had for less that $325

I can't imagine waking up at 2:00 AM and not being able to see those tritium watch hands or HK Trijicon sights. Kinda like a Jarhead security blanket I guess... LOL
