And let’s face, who ever heard of not breathing in public as a normal part of hygiene?
I must have missed something.
who do we blame more, the breathers or the breathed upon?

It amazes me that a lot the people are clamoring to open everything up and saying to heck with the at risk people, "they're on their own'. Yet these same people aren't willing to risk going in an patronizing the very places that are in dire straits. Hypocritical much... get out there amongst the masses and gitcha some immunity.

In times of uncertainty we need/want leaders (on all levels) who bring a positive message. At the same time they need to inspire us to be proactive in doing what we see as the right things to do on our level. There is plenty of stress in this situation. We need to focus on the "positive". Self-reliance and community building are needed. The state and Federal governments have roles to play but local is what matters because we can influence it for the better instead of obsessing over the other levels.

There's a saying I heard a long time ago that stuck with me. "People aren't against you, they are for themselves" and this situation really proves that. Nearly every person I talk to about COVID starts by looking at it from THEM outward to family, friends, acquaintences, all the way down to the general public. Last numbers I saw for OK was running a 5.8% fatality rate, but I bet people wouldn't want to name 6 names out loud per 100 people they know that they want to mark for death.

It's so easy to say open it up and let the weak die, because largely, we are biased that nothing bad will happen to us or our circle, and that our needs trump the mystery people we don't know. IMHO it's the same thing as why people don't plan for a disaster ("Oh that could never happen to ME!").

I've also noticed a trend that most people clamoring to open everything up are the ones with financial struggles rather than ideological ones. That leads me to really wonder how this whole thing would have played out if we had the same safety nets for vulnerable individuals that we do for MegaCorps.

Went to Walmart today. Half the 70-90+ year old shoppers were not wearing masks and about 2/3 of the younger folks didn't. And no one really practiced social distancing. One big guy about 30-35 years old with his two kids was sneezing all over everything and made no attempt to cover it, what a slob. The WM workers wore masks but most of them didn't wear them correctly. I'm surprised the number of infections aren't higher. Once it opens back up 99% of all the mask/glove/social distancing will disappear. It will be interesting to see infections skyrocket.

It'll be interesting to see infections NOT skyrocket as I've predicted for the last month. Lots of misinformation out there. If you wanna know the skinny on things just ask Jack. If you're still worried about it stay outta close quarters with mouth breathers in stagnant air environments. Get outside, breathe some semi-fresh Oklahoma air!

Don't open things up so the "weak" won't die? There's so much red on that fish it can't swim. So if someone is "weak", why would/should they be out mingling with the masses to begin with? Are there not enough illnesses out there that Covid19 being totally absent wouldn't also cause harm? What made grocery stores, liquor stores, big box stores, banks, post offices, pharmacies, airlines, taxis, etc. exempt from making the "weak" die? If the "weak" do venture out aren't they at all responsible for their own potential exposure, e.g.wear masks, physical distancing, gloves, washing hands etc? Quoting a percentage fatality rate is impossible to do accurately when we don't know how many have been infected to begin with.
