I have no doubt it will come to war if the left wants this country. They have made many inroads politically, but there is a limit to how much leftist policies can be tolerated. Like Margret Thatcher said, sooner or later the left will run out of other people's money to buy support with handouts. This is not to say that a certain amount of leftist policies is tolerable, but as was quoted in the Declaration of Independence, paraphrasing, man will suffer evils while evils are sufferable, but when they become intolerable, man will throw off such evils, and the only remaining avenue to the left is war - as it will be the only avenue left to preserve freedom, prosperity, and property.

This thread is titled "living in a time of war". That "war", ostensibly, is with Muslim extremist. Should one concern themselves with the threat posed by Muslim extremist? If you're the worrying sort, sure go ahead. But it's like standing in the middle of a forest fire and worrying about a camp fire.
By this standard, you're a thousand times more likely to die of heart disease, therefore we should divert all counter-terrorism funding to wage war on McDonalds. :rolleyes2

That's actually a pretty good idea. But that might actually help the average person and not feed more billions into the military industrial complex.

Go ahead. Disarm this country. Anyone not surrendering to slavery will not live long enough to die of any natural cause.

There is a Grand Canyon chasm of difference between "divert all counter-terrorism funding" and "Disarm this country". No one is going to confiscate the 300 million firearms in the hands of U.S. citizens. The DOD will get their $550-600 billion a year. And you're not going to be killed by a Muslim terrorist. Now, some dude you cut off in traffic, now that's who you should fear.

BS. Drip, drip, drip is the method of the liberal left.

Yet, we've had two SCOTUS rulings confirming personal firearm ownership. The liberal left had control of both houses and the White House for 2 years, no new gun laws. No new EO's in 8 years restricting legal gun ownership. In fact, of the last two most restrictive gun control laws, the FOPA and AWB, the more restrictive one, as it banned an entire class of firearms and there was no sunset provision, was signed by Reagan. There is no drip. You're tilting at windmills.
