Nice, Good luck this holiday race. I worked Jim White's nitro funny car in the late 70's. Lot of fun, but got tired of eating at Shoney's and staying in motels most every weekend after a while.
There is nothing like the smell of Nitromethane in the morning. Ha Ha
Nice, for a while I was helping a guy who was racing nostalgia class. His car superseded certain rules that were implemented like only 6 cylinder engines and no tubular frames so he was allowed to race with a V8 and a tubular frame. Rather than laying back and just making it interesting maybe lose a race here or there he was out ahead by half a lap. Eventually they changed the rules again and instead of him being allowed to run it the car was banned and him as a driver in that class was banned. Was then helping with an open wheel modified before life happened and I was no longer able to help.
Thanks! It was so hot down there, think I lost 10 lbs sweating. Get to track at 9:00 and back to hotel around 2:30am but live it! Had low ET in B field with a 4.33
