You might checkout the Rossi rs22 if you are looking for a cheap 22 lr riffle. I have one and have not had any issues. I like it enough to not sell it if that means anything to you.

you should be able to go buy new if your going to spend 600. Ruger, Savage and Remington have All kinds of aftermarket parts. Ruger will require some extra searching. The only thing that is Ruger American on mine is the action. it was a build as you go rifle.
