I went to exactly one Chupps auction and witnessed people paying 300% more for guns than they could be purchased at even the gunstores which apply full retail . It was mind boggling
At the City of Tulsa auction (run by Chupps) man that auctioneer earned their money on one lot. It was three 2 dollar bills and three 1 dollar silver certificates. All told the value was basically $10. They got somebody to pay $52.50 for it.

Not 20 minutes later I had no less than 5 people tell me I was an idiot for pay $160 for a Leupold scope. I later sold the scope on eBay for about $500 to fund a project.

Auctions are weird animals, but that's what makes them fun if you have self control.

Off the subject of auctions, Easy Pawn lost my business because an employee working there, this little hobbit looking mf'er decided to be really rude to me last time I was there. I never returned. Yes I did talk to the owner's wife, she apparently told the employee that if he ever spoke to another customer that way he would be fired.
