Functional is one thing. But if you want a BBQ gun, get yourself something deserving, like a Browning High Power, nice 1911, Colt Python, etc. Glocks, M&Ps and XDs ain't nobody's BBQ gun, they're meant to thrash and then thrash some more. 
I think Glocks look good, but I also think station wagons are cool, so take that for what it's worth.

Soooo... then the term "BBQ gun" is... a gun you wear unnecessarily open carrying when BBQing with friends and family to show it off? So it's for "perty guns"?
