Mag Fed M1 Garand Question

I give up. I used to be a collector of Garands. This one stumps me. It is also a 5 digit serial number. It is not a reweld or Beretta. Ant idea of what this is and any story behind it?

Receiver looks USGI. 1942. It’s been re-parked.
There were conversions years ago by private individuals to accept BAR mags. Don’t know if there were kits you could buy for the conversions.
