Need to just call it a plant and let whoever wants to grow it smoke it or sell it do as they please. I expect the value would go to near zero which would kill most of the growers. State would lose their taxes and fees so won't happen, but still.
It's called freedom and self determination. Can't allow the peasants that, they might think they count.

Agreed. Don’t get why casinos are only legal to be owned by Indians? It’s racist plain and simple.
It's because Indian Nations cannot be told what is and isn't legal on their own sovereign land. It's the state elected whites gatekeeping the gambling. Took 99-years to legalize tattoos. 111-years to fully legalize alcohol sales. No telling if/when casinos will be freely allowed, but it would be interesting to watch the industry at that point. The tribes would fight that idea tooth and nail

That's happening right now with sports betting. Stitt wants it open to anyone, tribes want to retain monopoly.

I'm all for a fair competition, they won't be getting any of my money either way.

I know 0.0 that have been helped by medical marijuana. Now, the only people I’ve known to get it are either anxious or depressed -so they’re lying. But now they got legal weed, and they’re even more anxious or more depressed but also high. I’ve even heard that marijuana cures cancer…cancer, the thing Bob freakin’ Marley died from.

It really takes people down when they become addicted. It steals from them their drive to do anything worthwhile. The whole medical part of it is a total scam into the masses getting recreationally addicted to it, it was never about the medical part.

You heard weed cures cancer? Who the hell have you been listening to?

One of my good friends' father had cancer a few years ago. He lost a load of weight, nausea was terrible, medical MJ relieved that and allowed him to eat, and allowed him to be a little more comfortable. So that worked.

For my dad it didn't really help.

In either case, adults don't need the state telling them what they can own, grow or consume. Whether for fun or for medicine it's no one's business but their own.

I concur. Sister-in-law was able to stay around with her 2 boys a little longer when battling cancer treatments and they wouldn't do anymore unless she kept her weight up. MMJ helped with her appetite so could enjoy her kids a little longer. Can't imagine the internal pain she felt leaving a 4 year old and a 10 year old.
