I am kinda surprised military hasn't moved to something like this sooner. Then I remember it is the military. If coin was no issue a MRAD would be one awesome toy.

I'm sure the $16,000 includes 3 barrels, 3 different bolt heads, and 3 different sized mags. An Accuracy International ASR Rifle Kit .308/.300NM/.338NM costs $19,500 from Euro Optic. The Barrett MRAD looks like a steal to me if the kits the same.

I think these run like ~$5k for the base civilian version.

The $16k also includes the glass and suppressor according to the article. That's not near as bad as I would have expected.
