Looks like cat food to me, but I ate worse on active duty.

duty is not a culinary experience.

All that being said, I'd think somebody like a VFW or American Legion post would have contributed better grub. They probably weren't asked, because I can assure you that they would have produced better than that. BTW I'm a member/volunteer of both.

If that picture of someone's breakfast isn't photoshopped it's an out rage.
Does anyone know if that picher is real?
I've seen better pichers on the menue at Denny's for god's sake.

Looks like T-rats to me....why are they bitching? T-rats are standard fare for the mass feeding of troops. Troops 'deployed' to DC for inaugural support are there to work and support operations, not dine on caviar or McDonalds.

Some people's kids.

They activated and deployed a guard unit from Mississippi for the Inauguration???? What a waste of taxpayer money. AND, fed them that stuff? Another example of misuse and poor treatment of our military. They deserve much better.

When I was in the Army our MP company worked 24/7 so there was a midnight meal, one time a cook tried to pawn that kind of stuff off on us. My squad leader called the CO at home and within 15 minutes he was there and made them dump the mess in the trash and cook another meal and assured us it would never happen again and it never did. The cooks received an article 15 from the CO, don't remember what the punishment was but remember it was harsh.

In all seriousness, there are people in this world known as food photographers. They have all sorts of time honored techniques that make food look palatable. I mean no offence here, but do we really know the provenance of this photo? Was it taken by a professional?
Just askin.
