I was told by my dealer in Broken Arrow that the ATF called him and wanted to verify my address... Well that was months ago and I never heard from them. The most stuff I've purchased at once was 3 rifles. He said that was the first time they have called him and asked for him to pull a file...

We do a lot of multiple handgun forms here. Anytime we transfer 2 or more firearms in a 5 business day period we have to send a form to Oklahoma County Sheriff and ATF. This is mainly used for local LEO to see trends for possible straw purchases, or individuals purchasing for resell. I've only known of one instance where we were contacted by the ATF on one and it was a guy purchasing 15 Five Seven pistols. It's not a big deal. If you're purchasing from three different FFL licensees no report will be reported. The Multiple Handgun form is for 2 or more handgun sales within a 5 day period with that FFL licensee.

I'm going to be sending my application for FFL sent off next week. After reading ton's of ATF material. I believe it's possible that even if you buy 3 guns in the same week from different licensed dealers... that when they call and get your approval. The ATF will have a record of your request to purchase and will keep you on file once all 3 FFL's call in the same week. Because it's 3 different FFL's THEY won't have to fill out the paperwork... but the ATF will still fill the paperwork out on you. Right now... ATF isn't supposed to keep records of your gun purchases, only the people who sell you a gun are. HOWEVER, when you buy two or more in the same day or same 5 day week.. There is special paperwork that is filled out and sent to ATF... at that point the ATF has written records of you and your gun purchases. Just to be on the safe side... If possible I would try and just do 1 purchase per week.. See if you can get a guy to wait a week and the other guy to wait another week... That's the way I understand what I've just read. It doesn't have to be 2 purchases in the same week from the same guy.. it's 2 purchases in a 5 day week and the "system" will alert ATF if your getting a 2nd or more gun purchase in the same week and they fill out and keep record of it.
