I had the snout ported for a 90mm throttle body when I first swapped the upper pulley on the stock bottom end. The blower case is stock though. The cam is from GPTuning, Matt calls it a 2.5 but it pairs up really well with the WCCH heads, 9.8:1 compression, and won't hold nitrous back.

If you are wanting to mod the LSA, I highly recommend cruising CTSVOwners.com. There are some incredibly smart guys on there.

This engine would be rowdy as hell in a smaller, lighter car. Definitely go for it as soon as you can! My real hope if I sell this car is to find a solid driver quality 66-67 Nova to enjoy for now and have some cash leftover to get some padding back that our builder screwed off.

That is one of the cams I am considering for mine, along with a BTR Stage 3 or 4 PD cam or the DMS cam. I have a 2.55 upper and I am looking at probably combining that with a 9.16 lower.

Should be a lot fun with a 6-speed Tremec Magnum and some 335 or 345 rollers in the back.

I say if you wanna throw some more parts at it, I would go for it. It’s your project, have fun with it! I definitely think throwing a bottle or two in the back will be more than worth it. Have you done any work to the tranny?

It is still a bone stock TR6060. The plus side to nitrous over a larger displacement blower is the ability to slowly ramp it in for less shock on the drivetrain. The biggest reason I focused on 1/2 mile is not having to sweat the 60', softer launch, less strain on the drivetrain. The cool part on this car is that the TR6060 has an internal pump and external transmission cooler so I dont worry about a long sprint as much.

when you find that nova, let me know so I can show you some stuff that will blow the savings again, haha. Have a buddy who’s dad has a nova that he dropped an LSX454 in it after a complete from the ground up restoration/modernization. The car is amazing.

I already have a running budget forecast for a number of cars I hope to own at some point with specific goals and components, haha. I treat it like designing a measurement project for work. The goal for the Nova is to have something that would be mostly set up as a protouring ride, but with a bit more power than is typical. The issue I run into is my power goals for every project is chasing a feeling of controlled fear when smashing the loud pedal. It is fleeting and always hungry for more money and power. The next car will definitely be twin turbo and fairly large cubes. I miss the power curve and noises of a turbo engine, but cant give up the sound of a rowdy V8. Easiest way is to mash the two together and hold on, haha.

Matt also has a very reasonable rate for custom spec'ing a cam for your specific engine, curb weight, and goals. The DMS "She Gone" cam seems to perform very well on the track for 1.9L PD cars.

Below is the video from the final pull on the dyno. This is TSP headers with 2" primaries through stock rear mufflers.
