I like my sporter. Mine has a 6.5x55 barrel in it. Straight shooter.
the lion designates it as a czech military rifle. Esp if it has an E lion 22 or 23 etc etc.
Looks like ther is a little pitting in the bore after cleaning....Looks like it went from how she groups to how she patterns LOL. Looks like its time to start looking at barrel and caliber options possibly.
Don't give up yet. It may just need to be recrowned, or perhaps counterbored. I'd try that first.
Don't joke... I once bought a 1917 Enfield that had such a jacked up bore that it would literally pattern. The bullet would shed pieces of the jacket. With every shot you would wind up with one big hole and several odd shaped ones at 25m, and it had a nice copper colored muzzle blast!
Hunting quail with a .303. Sounds like fun.
Try a really good cleaning on the barrel and have the crown checked out. 30-06 barrels don't have to be perfect to shoot nice groups, and you aren't going to use this in bench rest competition.
Check out that scope in low light conditions while you are in the evaluation stage.
If you do decide to rebarrel, .280 Remington is a real good choice.

I shot it about a week ago. Nothing scientific just few roungds of Greek hpx m2 ball. Picked a goffer mound out on the hillside about 75 yards out and took couple shots from prone position. Didn't expect to hit the mound and I didn't. But it was a consistent miss (high and left). All 4 shots I took landed about the same spot according to the dust that flew.
Next time will use a bench and some paper targets with more ammo. She may be a hunter yet!

Well shot some m2 ball at a real target. Got about 1.25" at 50 yards off a bipod. Then the ugly showed. Shot some 180gr Remington factory loads. Bolt got real sticky and had flattened primers. Google tells me this is excessive headspace. :/
