CO has some nice areas but until you have done MT, your missing out. Its just a lot further to get to but worth every mile.

My 12 year old daughter and I were in a Wrangler on Engineer one summer and pulled off at Oh! Point. For some reason, I went down quite a ways down off the point for a picture or something and then climbed back up. I've been out of breath before but at 12,000 feet, I could not breathe fast enough to get caught up. That was a really uncomfortable feeling. I thought for sure I was gonna pass out.
I was hoping to move to Colorado after retirement but it's not to be.
