A piece of trivia. According to their contract the uniforms had to be cleaned and pressed before shooting every day so the actors had to roll around in the mud and dirt and sand every day before shooting. They also couldn't shave all week during filming. Ever notice Eucalyptus trees and palm trees in their background while filming? That's because Malibu Beach was the D Day landing spot.
