Need a lil help and prayers...

I will be heading to Afghan soon with the Army Guard... I just got a phone call tonight that my sister is sick and in the hospital... She lives in St. Louis and is my only surviving family member since both parents are dead. She just recently had her 2nd Kidney Transplant last December and her body is rejecting it. She can not have another and the doctors fear she wont last much longer. Since this will be my last Christmas in the states for a while and with her condition I decided to fly up there. The probleme is all the tickets are crazy expensive. Does anybody have any tips or tricks on cheap airline tickets or know where to look? I know some places offer military discounts but I have no idea where to look. So I ask for your prayers please and if you have any suggestions on where to look I would appreciate it thank you.

Tickets are stupidly expensive this time of year. The only suggestion I would have is to try South West.
Or drive.
With the new security, its probably quicker to drive to St Louis than fly.
I hope you sis can make it through this crisis.

Call various airlines and ask what their military rate is....delta used to be 99 one way with "active duty id"

Rent a car? You get a fairly nice, new car with good to great gas mileage and don't have to worry if it breaks.
I rented a few weeks ago from Tulsa to KC. The five days was only like $153 for a nice Sonata with taxes and everything. Got almost 36 mpg too.
If you rent, try to rent off airport to avoid all the extra airport taxes and fees.
