I've read where he's looking to move and even that is within OKC city limits. Anyone who moves into a city, within the limits, and expects it to stay country forever is misguided. OKC limits go out past Harrah, with a small unincorporated section somewhere therein. Norman, well, it's Norman. They seem to hate everything and everybody doing anything to improve their life. The bottom line is if you buy a house in a developed area, more development will come. Thinking anything else is just fooling yourself.

My brother lived in a similar subdivision.
Developer bought a section behind them and put in a new road. Made brother on a corner lot. He thought it best to get out. No offers for 6 months. Decided to wait out construction.Reassessment and taxes go up. Major increase in traffic, along with street issues.
The new subdivision was houses $400k to $700k.
His gets another reassessment and evaluation is doubled. Taxes doubled.
He had announced his retirement. Now, it is time to leave.
Sold within 2 weeks and never looked back. 2 years of inconvenience, but paid well in the end.
BTW : He sold just north of Houston and moved to Maine.

Here, but occasionally There.
If considering staying where you are, look into having something in the house to create "white noise." For three years, the wife and I lived in our RV in a mobile home park and our lot was 100 yards from I-44 on the north side of OKC. During the Summer, we always had an oscillating fan running all day and never really heard much traffic on the interstate.

While a fan isn't needed in the Winter, one can turn on a radio to music which may very well block out the noise. And, as mentioned earlier, after a bit of time, one manages to "tune out" the background noise from outside.

I moved out to rural tuttle to get out of this rat race back in 2000. Guess what, it followed me. I moved, primarily because of divorce but tuttle traffic is stupid compared to 25 years ago.
If you want out, you'll need to go beyond where others won't go because of their commute to work. Minco, Amber, union city maybe. West of the city 40 miles anywhere...otherwise, growth catches you eventually.

I have been in Woodrun addition west of Mustang road and north or Reno avenue since 1998 and watched it all grow huge.

I hate it and wife hates it but finding what we want is a bit tough.
Not even thinking of a neighborhood at all.

Hang out at night in an area you think you like and in MWC Del City you may discover you are better off where you are.
