Best advice so far, especially about Megging the motor. That will give instant results if it's bad or not.

Does the motor have a start and a run capacitor? If so, the run capacitor may be bad.
About 5 to 6 seconds then trips the on board breaker
I only see a start capacitor which is rated at 110 to 147 micro faraids (? spelled wrong)
I would run it without any attachments and if it tripped then the thing needs to come apart and like stated the bearings may be at fault.
Easy to test that. Right when it trips the breaker try and spin it by hand.
If it spins freely then it is not the bearings.
If you need to use a meat grinder like right now I have one that will grind an entire deer that is cut up ready to go in less than 5 minutes.

could this be a gfci problem???
Without having a schematic, it sounds to me like the start winding switch is not operating/opening once the motor is started ... typically a small centrifugal switch on one end of the shaft
did this problem happen also before you changed the cord???
sounds very possible ???
