I've got the typical kitchen sink set up, a two bowl sink with garbage disposal on one side, hooked to the dishwasher and the other side just a straight drain. There's a trap on both sides.

The sink has recently started gurgling when draining water and I believe it's pulling water out of the traps, at least on the side without the disposal. It's stays pretty noisy until there is no more water to make noise.

So, after many years with this set up and no noticeable leaks, what's causing this now? Any troubleshooting suggestions?

I haven't pulled either of the traps off yet, thought I'd wait for some input before I tried to act like a plumber.

Thanks.

The only plumbing advice I can give is that S&@? Runs downhill, payday is on Fridays and don’t bite your fingernails !
An old plumber once told me there are four basic rules in that business:
Hot is on the left, cold is on the right, payday is Friday and the boss is a --- of a -----.

OP - I think you got some good advice in this thread and good luck in getting everything worked out.

I have some respect for plumbers. Especially ones that will make a service call on 30 yr. and older systems.
They never know what will find and when they touch it, it breaks and the owner just don't get it. Things are
usually not accessible and it's typically poorly lit and hot.
